Revitalization Task Force

Objectives

The Upper Moreland Township Revitalization Task Force, an advisory committee appointed by the Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners as part of Montgomery County’s Economic Development plan has worked on three major projects over the past several years.

  • New Revitalization Plan - Primary task was to create an updated revitalization plan to benefit the township’s overall economic development plan. This project involved updating the existing plan and determining the areas that would benefit the most from this program. A total of three public participation meetings were held and the plan was completed with the input provided from the public.
  • Willow Grove Train Station Relocation Study - The task force is also serving as the steering committee for the Train Station Relocation Project. The group has hosted a series of public participation sessions. Representatives from the County, SEPTA and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission have been involved in the planning process. Three train station feasibility public meetings have presented potential locations and concepts as to how best to use the Willow Grove Train Station while also considering alternate locations.
  • Draft New Township Comprehensive Plan - The Task Force is currently working with the Montgomery Planning Commission on a draft version of a new Township Comprehensive Plan.  Task Force Members and representatives of the Planning Commission, are holding public meetings on this project at the Township Building. Meetings are normally held the fourth Wednesday of the month.
