[ARCHIVED] Welcome Three Newly Hired Police Officers

At the Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on Monday, June 7, 2021, Magisterial District Judge Paul Leo administered the Oath of Office to newly hired Officers Paige McDowell, William Nagy and Kevin Kramer. 

Officer Paige McDowell:
Officer Paige McDowell is a 2013 graduate of Council Rock High School in Bucks County, Pa. Officer McDowell attended LaSalle University graduating in 2018 with a BA in Education, Special Education, American Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice.

Officer McDowell was a member of LaSalle’s Division-1 soccer team where she received several awards including scholar-athlete of the year, as well as being was named to the Atlantic-10 first team all-conference for three years in a row. Officer McDowell and her teammates won two conference championships and had two NCAA tournament appearances.  

Officer McDowell attended the Philadelphia Police Academy graduating in December of 2019. Upon completion of the police academy she was assigned to the 25th district and the 19th district prior to being hired by the Upper Moreland Township Police Department. 

Officer William Nagy:
Officer William Nagy graduated from Frankford High School in 2000 and was employed by the City of Philadelphia as a park ranger. In 2001 Officer Nagy enlisted with the United States Coast Guard serving active duty from 2003-2007 when he was honorably discharged. After completing his military service Officer Nagy was employed as a criminal investigator by the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.           

In July 2011 Officer Nagy was hired by the Philadelphia Police Department and upon completion of the academy was assigned to 25th district and the 14th district. In 2019 Officer Nagy left the Philadelphia Police Department and was employed by the Upper Dublin and Upper Pottsgrove Township Police Departments prior to being hired by the Upper Moreland Township Police Department.

Officer Nagy is married and the father of two children. 

Officer Kevin Kramer: 
Officer Kevin Kramer is a 2010 graduate of the Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown, New Jersey. Officer Kramer attended Catholic University in Washington D.C. graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation Officer Kramer was employed as an emergency room nurse at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pa. from 2014 through 209. In 2019 Officer Kramer was hired by the Philadelphia Police Department. Upon completion of the police academy he was assigned to the 35th district prior to being hired by the Upper Moreland Township Police Department.

Office Kramer also holds his paramedic certification and is a member of the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad.

Officer Kramer is married and the father of two children with a third child on the way.

We wish Officers McDowell, Nagy, and Kramer the best of luck and a long, safe, and successful career as police officers with Upper Moreland Township.
