[ARCHIVED] Welcome New UMT Police Officer, Megan Padua

On April 5, 2021, Upper Moreland Township Police swore in a new police officer, Megan Padua. Megan is assigned to the patrol division. Magisterial District Justice Paul Leo administered the Oath of Office to Officer Padua while her father held the bible. After completing her Oath of Officer her husband pinned her badge.

Prior to coming to Upper Moreland, Megan enlisted with the United States Army National Guard and served our Country in the US Army Reserve from 2014 through 2020. In July of 2020, Megan received an honorable discharge from the US ARMY.

In addition to her military service, Megan was hired as a police officer by the City of Philadelphia in October of 2015 and attended the Philadelphia Police Academy. Upon completing the academy, Megan was assigned to the patrol division of the Philadelphia Police Department. Megan’s focus is to establish and maintain contacts within the community fostering community-oriented policing, while maintaining high moral standards.

Megan attended Bloomsburg University and Neumann University where she graduated with honors receiving her Bachelors of Science undergraduate degree in Public Safety Administration. Megan enlisted with the Upper Moreland Township Police Department on March 8, 2021 to further her career and pursue more in-depth community-oriented policing. Megan is currently in her field training officers’ program with our police department with an anticipated completion of the program in June, where she will receive her patrol line assignment. Megan is a proud mother of two children and is married to a Philadelphia Police Officer.
