[ARCHIVED] Long Time Commissioner Passes Away on January 25, 2021

It is with great sadness that we inform the Upper Moreland Township Community of the passing of Joseph A. Lavalle, Township Commissioner for Ward 4 and longtime resident. Commissioner Lavalle passed away on January 25, 2021.  He served on the Board of Commissioners for many years and made significant contributions to the development and redevelopment of the Township.  During his tenure, he held several leadership positions on the Board, including Vice President and Committee Chair.  As a professional architect, Commissioner Lavalle brought a wealth of knowledge to the Board that greatly benefitted our community.

Kevin C. Spearing, President of the Board of Commissioners stated “Joe grew up in Upper Moreland and loved the Township.  He chose to settle in Upper Moreland Township and raise his family.   We are all deeply saddened by his untimely passing.  He will be missed
