Starting the week of May 6, 2019 in Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement, will be going door to door to conduct their annual dog license and rabies vaccination canvass. The Bureau will select random areas throughout the county and knock on doors, in full uniform and in state trucks that are marked State Dog Warden. If a resident answers they will introduce ourselves, explain why they are in the area and if they have a dog. If you do not own a dog, they will leave a brochure should you need their assistance with any future dog issues. If the resident does have a dog, they will request to see the current license and rabies vaccination. If for some reason you cannot show it or do not have it, they will give you the opportunity to get the information to them via phone or email. If no one answers the door, they will leave the information at the door. Please reach out to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement at: 717-418-0284 if you have any questions.
