Upper Moreland Township and Hatboro Borough are seeking volunteers to serve on a steering committee for a grant awarded to create a Master Trail Plan for both communities. The grant, and work involved, will provide a blue print for possible community trails to connect to existing trails, provide for park connections, allow walking and cycling safely throughout the communities, and provide for non-vehicular access to downtown cores, train stations, and other areas of interest in our communities.
The steering committee will consist of between 7 and 9 volunteers who will be charged with assisting the hired consultant (not hired yet) in creating our Master Trail Plan. Volunteers can expect to attend steering committee meetings (at least 5) and public meeting (at least 2), responding to community ideas, reviewing of plans, and making recommendations - no dates have been determined as yet for the meetings. Planning is expected to begin in March of 2019 and conclude in February of 2020.
If you are interested in assisting with the plan, please email the Upper Moreland Township Director of Parks and Recreation, Patrick Stasio and provide your experiences, background, and why you are interested in this opportunity. Email: pstasio@uppermoreland.org
