Commercial, Industrial, & Institutional Recycling

You are required by law to provide a yearly recycling report to the Upper Moreland Township Recycling Coordinator. Act 101 of 1988 and Upper Moreland Township Ordinance requires commercial, industrial and institution establishments located in Pennsylvania municipalities with greater than 5,000 populations to recycle the following:

  • Aluminum Cans
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Glass
  • Newspapers
  • Office Paper

All apartment complexes or residential communities (nursing homes, condominiums, retirement communities, etc.), commercial, industrial and institutional business owners are required to provide recycling containers or centralized collection containers for their residents. At a minimum, you must provide one container for co-mingled recyclables including aluminum cans and glass; and a second container for newspapers, office paper, cardboard and other clean paper.
